RON RUSSELL

Ronald Russell grew up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. He moved to Baltimore at age 17 in 1964 to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art. After completing his undergraduate degree attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio and earned his M.F.A. in painting with minors in art history and graphic arts. Ron moved back to Baltimore, down to New Orleans and since has resided in Baltimore.

Ron specializes in scenes of action and entertainment. He has focused on baseball as a primary subject for the last ten years. His work is full of humor, visual puns, and human interest. His metaphors often include food. His most famous local event is the “Foodscape Show” every year at the Mount Royal Tavern during the Maryland Institute Artscape Extravaganza. Seeing Baseball through Ron’s eyes is “a can of corn.” Also a practicing photographer, his subject matter is vintage automobiles.

Russell’s work is collectable, about collectables, and intriguing to collectors, and in many collections, public and private. His work is available as originals or as giclee reproductions.
