KATHY HOMAN
Painting

Kathy Homan loves dogs. When she's not painting watercolors of them she
works with dogs professionally and volunteers with local rescue groups.
Kathy is proud to be a self taught artist who paints dogs because she enjoys
capturing their individuality and spirit. In 1998 Kathy began painting her
own dogs while they slept and slowly began understanding the nuances of the
watercolor medium. Her work has a sense of humor and personal style that
reflect her optimism and individuality. In 2004 she created a community
outreach program called The Pit Bull Project. Taking the proceeds from her
art sale, she uses the money to fund spay and neuter surgeries for Baltimore
City Pit Bull owners. It is the only free spay and neuter program in
Baltimore. Kathy takes great pride in knowing that her art is not only
providing enjoyment for herself and the people who buy it but that it's also
providing an answer to a great social problem in her city.
